Republic Volkite Robot Project

 

    The Volkite robot has a long history dating back to cinema serials in 1936.

    My R2-D2 project is a radio controlled (Spektrum) robot.

    My Lost in Space Robot is more of an Automaton , like the Presidents at Disney; Preprogrammed movement, Lights and sound.

    My Volkite will be a costume/statue. It will be my simplest and cheapest project.

  1. 20" Dia Sonotube

  2. Wiggle Eyes for faux Rivet tops (Multiple sizes)

  3. Glue Dot stripes (for straight and even application of rivets)

  4. 1" thick foam sheets (sculpting feet, claws and dome) Ebay

  5. Water Base Contact Cement (glue foam, easy cleanup)

  6. "Sculpt or Coat plastic cream" or white glue or fabric paint (I have to experiment)

  7. Canned Smoke (because every robot needs SFX)

  8. Perfect Audio system (Servo sounds, clanking movements) maybe also a voice changer

  9. Four lights, lenses and sockets

  10. Wire mesh for visor area
